How I manage Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts via Hootsuite

Here's an example of my own brand (I can't use my employer's)
https://youtu.be/4SHCVCskFZg (Hootsuite demo)

On Hootsuite: This is how I monitor and reply FB, IG, Youtube and Twitter on my personal brand.  I can only use 3 accounts for free on my personal brand.  On the business account, I can add up to 8 accounts which will include Twitter.

Hope this clarifies things.

How to increase traffic to your Youtube channel? How do you get recommended more by Youtube Suggestion? (38%) What is CTR Click Thru Rate and Watch time?

How to increase traffic to your Youtube channel? How do you increase reach/exposure by Youtube Recommendation?

So 38% of my traffic is coming from "Youtube recommendation" according to my Youtube Analytics.  I decided to make some changes to see if I can improve that.  So according to Youtube Analytics, to increase the chance of Youtube Suggesting my content, I need to increase my CTR (Click-Thru Rate) and watch time.  But first, let's go thru some of the terms and what it means.
My Youtube Analytics data

What is Youtube suggestion?  Here's an example of "Youtube Recommend on Homepage"

What is CTR Click Thru Rate and Watch time?

Click-through rate (CTR): Definition is
A ratio showing how often people who see your ad end up clicking it. Clickthrough rate (CTR) can be used to gauge how well your keywords/image/thumbnails and ads are performing.

Watch Time:
The amount of time that a viewer has watched a video. This gives you a sense of what content viewers actually watch (as opposed to videos that they click on and then abandon).

What changes will I be implementing?

  • Improve Watch Time: My previous videos were around 15-20min.  But my avg watch time is 5-6min.  So I decided to shorten my videos to 5-6min and tightening my storyline.  (more post later)
  • Improve CTR: I'm testing some different versions of Thumbnails and Title.  (more post on this later)
Here's my Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/abcmsroo

My issue now is- I do see a lift in subscriber count and revenue (I haven't see Youtube Suggest improve or views yet), BUT since I didn't implement AB testing or Multi-variant testing, it's hard to contribute the improvement to which factor.  But through comments and engagement, my audiences approves the new content.

Best Youtube Studio workshop I had was "Story structure"

After going to multiple workshops at Youtube Studio LA, the best one was "Story Structure" led be coach Lisa Linke

As a math major from UCLA, it blew my mind.  Her two days workshop help me structure my Youtube video content and production.  It significantly improved content logic and engagement.

Pixar and Khan collaborated to make videos about this.  Check it out.

Measure your Youtube sub growth by week, not per day. It should be slowly growing if you're doing everything correct.

Your youtube channel SUBSCRIBER count should be slowly growing per WEEK.  If not, there's something missing.

Do:
  • track [weekly] growth by [subscribers] count.  This is the most important long term index in my view.  It means someone wants to hear more from you in the future.
  • have a consistent content brand.
  • improve one aspect of your channel at a time.  so you don't get overwhelmed and see the impact after.

Don't:
  • obsess [daily subscriber] count, sometimes there are slow days
  • obsess over [view] count, sometimes there are slow days
  • don't give up if you don't see growth.

If you don't see growth on [WEEKLY SUBSCRIBER] count, we need to go back and review the basic steps for optimizing your videos in our coaching session.

Making Youtube content when your business is dry n serious? Like Insurance, Finance, or Real Estate etc? Try marrying it with fun stuff!

I noticed some of my coaching clients in business like insurance, finance, or real estate make youtube content exactly about that.  Dry stuff!

Youtube isn't Linkedin.  Would you want to watch something that dry?

How do you turn something so dry and boring to something fun and engaging?  Marrying with something cute!  The most watched youtubes are cat and babies.  So try adding a dog in your content. Here's an example:

Food + Dog

Youtube's new monetization policy change - demonetizes "advertiser un-friendly" videos

Content that is considered inappropriate for advertising

Content that is considered "not advertiser-friendly" includes, but is not limited to:
  1. Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humor
  2. Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism
  3. Inappropriate language, including harassment, profanity and vulgar language
  4. Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items
  5. Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown

According to YouTube, the company started rolling out improved notifications in Video Manager in an effort to make it fairer and clarify confusion in the creator community around its longstanding advertiser-friendly guidelines. The improved notifications are aimed at making it clearer to creators when a video is demonetized due to advertiser-friendly content concerns and making it easy for them to appeal.
